Eligibility Criteria for the SSC CGL 2024

Exam Not everyone can participate in the SSC CGL Exam, as the commission has established minimum eligibility criteria including educational qualifications, age limits, and nationality. According to last year’s notification, the eligibility criteria are as follows:

  1. Education Qualification:
  • For Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University and CA/CS/MBA/Cost & Management Accountant/ Masters in Commerce/ Masters in Business Studies.
  • For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum of 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.
  • For Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Graduation Degree from any recognized University with Economics Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective Subject.
  • For Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC): Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum one year research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution.
  • For Remaining posts: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.

  • Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen or subject of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC CGL Selection Process 2024 The SSC CGL 2024 Examination will comprise four tiers, as detailed below

  1. Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in nature).
  2. Tier-II:
    • Paper I (Compulsory for all posts).
    • Paper II for candidates applying for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) posts in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
    • Paper III for candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.

• Upon successful application, all candidates for the SSC CGL exam will receive Roll numbers and Admit Cards for the Computer-Based Examination (Tier-I).

• Based on Tier-I scores, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, for Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations.

• Separate cut-offs will be released for Paper-II of Tier-II (for JSO posts), Paper-III of Tier-II (for Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer posts), and Paper-I of Tier-II (for all other posts).

• Tier-II Examinations will be conducted for all candidates who qualify Tier-I.

• In Tier-II, all candidates will need to appear in Paper-I, II, and Paper-III. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the JSO and Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer posts will be required to sit for Paper-II and Paper-III respectively.
